Víctor R. Yáñez Pereira

Social Worker and Bachelor of Social Work, Master in Social Work and Social Policy, University of Concepción - Chile. PhD and Postdoctoral Fellow in Social Work, National University of La Plata - Argentina. Diploma in Mediation and Diploma in Family Intervention, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Diploma in Innovation and Collaborative Management for Teaching in Higher Education, Autonomous University of Chile. His professional career focuses on the areas of welfare, community development, municipal administration, and social expertise. He began teaching in 1999, focusing on epistemology, the foundations of social work intervention, and public policy. He has served as Director of the Social Work Program and Vice Dean in the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities. He is currently a tenured professor, researcher, and Academic Director of Postgraduate Studies at the Autonomous University of Chile, where he also serves as Director of the Master's Program in Social Work. He is a visiting professor in national and international undergraduate and Master's degree programs. His research has focused on issues related to the identity and autonomy of Social Work, the historical development of the disciplinary and professional project, and the foundations of the research/intervention process. He is currently investigating the hermeneutic potential in contemporary Social Work. His applied research focuses on: citizen advocacy and deliberation in contexts of democratization and governance; sociopolitical clientelism and public policy. He is the Director of the International Network of Contemporary Social Work (RIITS). To date, he has published numerous works, including books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and scientific articles, and he actively and systematically participates in national and international events in the fields of social sciences and Social Work.
