María Eunice García Zúñiga is a dedicated academic and expert in Social Work, with extensive experience in research, teaching, and academic administration. She holds a Master's in Social Development from the Academy of Social Sciences and Human Development (ACANITS) and a Master’s in Social Research Methods and Techniques from CLACSO and UTE Ecuador. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the National School of Social Work (ENTS) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and pursued graduate studies in Public Administration at IESAP.
With over 18 years in academic-administrative roles at ENTS-UNAM, she currently serves as the Academic Secretary. Previously, she was Coordinator of the Open and Distance Education System (SUAyED), where she played a key role in implementing and accrediting the distance learning Social Work degree. She has also been Head of the Division of Professional Studies, overseeing faculty matters, as well as Head of the Department of Practical Training and the Academic Sections of Community Practice and Graduate Studies.
As a professor at ENTS-UNAM since 2004, she has taught various courses related to social work history, methodology, and intervention strategies, contributing to over 30 thesis evaluations and 23 professional examinations. She has also authored Trabajo Social de Casos desde lo Social and collaborated on research projects, including innovative intervention models for social work practice.
Beyond teaching, she has organized and participated in numerous national and international conferences, demonstrating strong leadership in promoting Social Work as a discipline. With a career spanning over two decades, she has also worked in community development, civic engagement, and social participation projects.
