We invite you to join us for the Twenty-Sixth International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations, the annual meeting of the Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations Research Network, taking place 27–29 May 2026 in Mexico City and online, in partnership with our host institution, the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM). The Network brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to examine human differences and diversity in their many manifestations—across organizations, communities, and nations. We welcome proposals that engage cultural, social, political, linguistic, and structural dimensions of diversity, exploring how difference is negotiated, institutionalized, contested, and transformed.
Today’s geopolitical realities are generating increasing confusion, uncertainty, and social suffering. Across contexts, regions, and imagined futures, the very prospects for humanity are being called into question. In 2026, our special focus asks what kinds of worldviews might inspire a renewed commitment to life, peace, and coexistence among nations, societies, and communities. We invite work that examines the social impacts of geopolitical forces and identifies interventions capable of strengthening human wellbeing and collective resilience.
This includes research grounded in preventive protocols and media interventions; models of care, engagement, and community-building; and practices that nurture transformative relationships and sustainable life systems—systems unmediated by hostile, destructive, or militarized behaviors. We encourage proposals that explore participatory technologies, inclusive public policies, and forward-looking initiatives that reinforce the social fabric, grounded in ethical commitments to diversity, human rights, identity, and belonging.
The special focus also issues a call to reconsider the role of universities, industries, enterprises, communities, and civil society in advancing institutional reform, economic justice, food security, intercultural harmony, health and well-being, and just peace—aligned with the aspirations of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Our worldview affirms the values of continuous learning, dignity through difference, and solidarity as a foundation for hope. Together, we aim to revitalize our shared humanity.
This year’s themes include: Identity and Belonging; Education and Learning in Worlds of Difference; Organizational Diversity; and Community Diversity and Governance.
The conference is organised as a hybrid knowledge experience, bringing in-person and online participation together in a unified scholarly environment. All accepted proposals become Presentation Pages in CGScholar Event (KX), where presenters upload abstracts, media, and reflections and where delegates continue conversation before, during, and after the event.
In-person presentations, live online sessions, and asynchronous contributions are woven into one integrated program. Regardless of participation mode, delegates have full access to the schedule, recorded and live session media, and a growing digital archive. Across all formats, the emphasis is on human-scale exchange—conversation, reflection, and collaborative inquiry—rather than one-directional presentation.
Presenters are invited to develop their work for possible publication in the On Diversity Journal Collection—a suite of bilingual (English/Spanish) journals including the International Journal of Organizational Diversity, the International Journal of Community Diversity, the International Journal of Diverse Identities, and the International Journal of Diversity in Education—or in the On Diversity Book Imprint, which publishes monographs and edited collections advancing research on diversity in organizational, community, and national contexts. Both outlets offer options for traditional and Open Access publication.
We welcome new and returning members to the Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations Research Network. By purchasing a Presenter Pass, you automatically become—or renew as—a Network Member for the year, with benefits that span both our online environment and our in-person programs. Membership places you inside our online Knowledge Experience in practice. Built by and for members, this shared space connects the full cycle of our work—and your work: preparation, presentation, reflection, and publication. Scholar-led and inclusive by design, it functions as a living commons for reciprocity, rigor, and continuity. Online, you can access everything in one place—conference updates and media, calls for papers, programs, archives, and journal and book content—and use it to share your ideas and current activities. All member posts undergo peer-facilitated review before being added, a social process of creation, review, and sharing that strengthens collective knowledge and community.
Alongside this online member experience, membership also supports and is activated through our in-person conferences and events, where you can meet peers, participate in sessions, and build new collaborations with our host partners. Membership sustains the Research Network, ensuring continued access to programs, archives, journals, and books and keeping ideas in motion over time—where belonging is defined by contribution and care.
We warmly invite you to submit a proposal and to join us—either in Mexico City or online—for this year’s annual meeting of the Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations Research Network. Together, we will explore how diversity operates across social and institutional contexts and how, amid geopolitical uncertainties, we might cultivate more just, inclusive, and humane futures.
Sincerely,
